New CME Webinar Series: Expand Your Pulmonary Embolism Knowledge

embolism-500Pulmonary embolism (PE) care has dramatically evolved over the last few years, with increasingly sophisticated diagnostic strategies, novel focus on initial risk stratification, and advancement in various forms of reperfusion strategies. There has been an increased emphasis on multidisciplinary approach targeted toward improving patient-centered outcomes.

Through this CME-eligible webinar series, the audience will learn the full spectrum of PE care, including outpatient care, risk stratification, intensive care, and complex scenarios that are encountered in day to day practice in an evidence-based manner. The goal of the educational program will enable learners to become fully confident with all aspects of PE decision making and clinical care.

Over the course of this webinar, four PE experts will review aspects of outpatient PE management, including answering these questions: where to treat patients, what about hypercoagulability workups, what does this mean long-term for a patient, and what about future travel.

Moderator: Shari Brosnahan, MD

Panelists: Parth Rali, MD; Brandon Hooks, DO, FCCP; and Nancy Amoroso, MD

Pulmonary Embolism: What's the Risk?

One of the most exciting and challenging parts of acute PE care is discovering which patients may decompensate or which patients are more prone to bleed. How can we apply various imaging and risk stratification modalities at the bedside to better risk stratify patients with acute PE? Also, all we see on a CTPA may not be the clot – how do we pick up a PE mimic?

Moderator: Todd Bull, MD

Panelists: Parth Rali, MD; Andrew Lehr, MD; Peter Hountras, MD; and Lisa Moores, MD, FCCP

Management of DVT/PE In-Patient (High Risk Sub-massive/Massive)

Over the course of this webinar, three PE experts will review aspects of the management of intermediate and high-risk PE, specifically reviewing risk stratification strategies aimed at identification of the patients with highest risk and therapeutic strategies in this patient population, with a review of various pharmacologic and catheter-based modalities.

Moderator: Sara Hegab, MD

Panelists: Kevin Doerschug, MD, MS, FCCP; and F. Mae West, MD, MS
