Web and Multimedia Editor Search


The journal CHEST® has been making efforts to expand its online multimedia offerings, and as a result, is looking to add a new Section Editor: Web and Multimedia Editor to the staff. 

This position will enhance the reach, engagement, and understanding of CHEST® content through the development and execution of a multimedia strategy that encompasses the website, apps, and other channels. 

The Web and Multimedia Editor will promote and champion the journal and the CHEST organization in the field through participation in relevant conferences, speaking engagements, and activities and stay up to date on trends in media, apps, online medical education, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  1.  Define and develop innovative multimedia tactics to enhance the reach, engagement, and understanding of CHEST®content.
  2. Stay current on emerging uses of content and multimedia tactics that CHEST® may consider.
  3. Support the development of defined multimedia and work with staff and contracted partners to ensure delivery of final assets that are on time, within budget, and at a high level of quality.
  4. Collaborate with the CHEST® Editor in Chief, Deputy Editor, and Assistant Editor to select high impact and complex research to be complemented through multimedia.
  5. Produce audio and video summaries of each monthly issue for posting and identify content to feature on the journal site and apps.
  6. Oversee social and podcast activities.
  7. Oversee the CHEST® Topic Collections online to ensure relevance and ease of access to curated content.
  8. Leverage the CHEST® website to provide information on trending topics.
  9. Communicate with the authors of original articles as needed to develop complementary multimedia material.
  10. Engage with leading researchers and clinicians to contribute to the development of content as needed.
